Final Post

I can't believe that it is time for the final post. I am glad because that means one less thing to do every week, but I know that the elimination of the blog posts signifies the start of a lot more writing. I have been having a lot of luck so far with my research paper and I am hoping that it will stay that way. I have found a lot of great sources and have started putting together my introduction. At this point I really need to set down and read through all of my articles and books. They have a lot of information in them and so to this point I have only read through 3 of them completely and more or less skimmed through the other 3. I can't believe that we are already so far through the semester. I am so excited, because I have just one more after this! Good luck to everyone on writing the paper and have a good rest of the semester!

Week 7

I was beginning to get that mid-semester lag going on. You know the one where half way through the semester you lose your motivation to do anything. I used to blame it on the weather change until I realized that it happens to me in the Spring as well. Half way through the Spring semester the weather changes for the good, so I guess it's just my burnout spot. Luckily, I was able to refresh myself this weekend. I decided to go on a road trip. I headed out for Greenville, SC, a long 6 hour drive and watched KISS and Buckcherry in concert. They were awesome and totally worth the drive. Even though I had a long drive home through the night, I got back pumped up. You can't go and watch a band like that and not get pumped. They were swing through the rafters and Gene Simmons played an entire song standing about 50 feet in the air on the catwalk. Needless to say, I feel much better this week than before. I hope that the energy stays up so that I can pull some long hours going through the articles that I have pulled for research and writing on our research papers. Good luck to everyone ad if you get a chance to see KISS in Nashville, you will love the show!!

Week 6

Well it's early. Too early for me, but I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so I thought I would get my blogs out of the way for the week. I am so excited that this week is Fall Break. I don't actually have any classes on Thursday or Friday but my husband does and it so it gives us some time off together. We aren't planning on going anywhere but sometimes it is nice to just relax and recuperate from full-time work schedules and full-time school schedules. If anyone is heading out this week, have a great time and be careful driving to your destination. Shifting to the homework, I have finally picked my topic for the research paper. Now I am just having a little trouble coming up with the title. I like my title to be something catchy and outside of the box, but that relates to the topic well. So far I have come up with nothing. My brain must be in shutdown mode, since I am normally not awake at this time of the morning. Some of you all may be thinking that 6:30 is not early at all, but I am not a morning person. I usually don't wake up until 7:30-8:00 after going to bed around midnight or later. My husband worked 2nd shift for two years and so I kind of inadvertently got on the same schedule. Have a great week everyone and to those who are heading out, have a great trip as well!!

Week 5

Well it must be that time of the semester because I have several tests this week! It seems like all of the instructors get together and plan one massive test week about three times a semester. I know that they don't really do that (do they?) but it sometimes feels like that. I just took my first Sociology test and it was a lot harder than I expected. It had a lot of application questions on it and so not only did you have to know the content, you also had to apply it to a scenario. I really don't like those types of questions:( I am excited about the "I Believe" essay for this course. I read several online and they were so good. A couple of them were heart-wrenching, I just sat and cried. I hope that I can come up with something as inspirational as what I read so that I can move people as well. This is a shorter writing piece and I think a great way to introduce us into writing. I am really glad that we aren't starting off with like a 10 page paper:) Good luck to everyone and have a great week!

Week 4

I thought that I would get a head start this week and get my blog posts out of the way. I have a tendency to wait until the last minute to do things and so I have been telling myself for two weeks to do my posts at the beginning of the week. So here is my attempt at that. Today is officially the first day of Fall. I am excited to watch the leaves change. I think that the fall months are the most beautiful time of the year around here. There is nothing more stunning than the reflection of fully colored trees on the lake. I like the weather in the fall as well. I am a big outdoors type of person and so I love the summer and fall. Although the weather is still beautiful right now, I am not looking forward to colder days. I think that the mid 70's is great weather. Happy Autumn! Have a great week!

Week 3

Well another week has gone by and I am finally getting into the swing of things. I have figured out how to juggle my classes and when to delineate time to certain courses. It seems to me that having a system for everything and a routine makes things so much easier. This week has been great, this weekend not so much. I seem to be coming down with something, it is great that this is an online course and so I can "go" to class and not chance getting anyone sick. Also, I'm sure it is not safe to drive after taking a full dose of NyQuil. I'm really not sure if it is safe to walk from my bed out to the office, but I did it, and I think that I am making sense right now. For all those that may be starting to fall victim to the changing seasons, I hope that you feel better and for those that are escaping the dreaded cold season so far, Have a great weekend!

Week 2

Well, here it is! We are already in week 2. Time seems to go by so quickly in a web-based course. If I didn't have traditional courses as well, I don't think I would ever know what day it was. So far the semester has been good. I really enjoy all of my classes and they are topics that I am actually interested in. I dropped 2 classes and I am now down to 12 hours. At first I was a little disappointed in myself for requiring an additional semester, but it is worth it to me to know that I am not overdoing it. What is one more semester anyway? I don't really know what I want to do with my degree anyway, I just now that it is definitely an asset to have one. Hope everyone else's classes are going well too! Have a great weekend!
